After going from a size 2 to a size 6, I decided its time to make some changes. Originally I just wanted to lose weight, now I'm on a mission to eat healthier for my body as well as my mood.
I've started my journey to health and wellness nirvana at the end of January. I have become a pescatarian, a barely ever eat dairy, and my blood pressure is near perfect (119/80).
I enjoy shopping for veggies and fruits. And I buy organic as much as I can afford.
I go to the gym 4-5 days a week but I try to sweat for at least an hour every day.
My gym favorites are: the elliptical, any type of weight machine, and my Hip Hop Cardio class.
Although most fitness and health Tumblrs I come across feature a goal weight. I do not have one. Currently my measurements are 36-26-35 and I'm 5,7". I do not believe in obsessively counting calories or weighing myself on the scale often. I feel that even if you are a size 00, you can still be at risk for heart disease and diabetes if you are not eating adequate amounts of veggies, fruits, seeds, whole grains, and legumes. Avoid process foods, dairy, meats, and oils and you will neer have to count another calorie again.
Also, I'm more concerned about the health side of fitness than the vanity side. Here I will not be posting 'thinspo' or '50 foods under 50 calories'. Instead I will post articles from news and health journals as well as research articles.
I hope you all enjoy my blog! Please feel free to drop anything in my ask box. Thank you!
